Not on art-worthy things, but anyway.  I've been really busy with work stuff and have had very little time for myself, so I've spent much of my time lurking LJ, Fanfic, and DeviantArt.  Forgive me. HI. It's been a while. Happy 2008. I've finally managed to update some stuff from this past year.  This only comes after Patrick pushed me to print and hang some of the frames we've been collecting for two years now. Great stuff going on.  Just got a paper in press in PNAS (a science journal) and am writing (battling with procrastination more like it) another paper for Chemical Geology.  In my final of my PhD and way too busy to work on my fanfiction, although another chapter should be coming out in the next month (exciting!).  Looking at moving across country to the grand state of Texas by the end of the year -  know of anyone who wants

So, I usually don't use this as a means to update or journal (you can go to my LiveJournal for that), but I figured that I should give an introduction to the photos I'm uploading from this last summer. Between May and July of this year, I went to Michigan and Southern China for geology trips.  Michigan was mostly sight seeing and camping with a group of colleagues from Virginia Tech.  China was a trip for my fieldwork, including a talk as the International Paleontological Convention in Beijing.  Both were fun and stressful, and my pictures here hopefully show the beauty of both regions. I've been super busy and I don't get to travel much.
